Stains

Question Posted Sunday May 20 2007, 2:56 pm

I got icecream spilled on my favorite white shorts, so i washed them thinking okay, it's just icecream, it will come out, but i dryed them too, and it didn't come out. Does anyone know what i can use to get it out? or do i just have to get a new pair since i dryed them?? please let me know asap.

If you hadn't have put them in the dryer you might have had more of a chance to get the stains out.

Dryers set the stain permanently. Never use the dryer when treating stains. Dry the garment by laying it on a big bath towel and roll up in a jelly roll fashion which squeezes excess water out, then lay flat on dry towel to dry or if hangable, hang to dry.

Now that you've dried it, (you didn't tell us if it were chocolate ice cream, vanilla or a strawberry...all different treatments) but TRY an OXY cleaner or detergent by treating first and allow to set for 30 minutes then wash with the OXY too.

If that doesn't work, use baking soda in the water and re-wash.

Since they're white, you could always bleach them without doing a lot of harm. Or you could go to your local supermarket, and buy a stain removing product such as Carbona.

See example here:

Since you've already dried the shorts, the stain might be harder or even impossible to get out. But a stain remover or bleach should do the trick.

Try using bleach, if that doesn't work then take the shorts to the dry cleaners.
