Loosing Wieght and Vegetarian.

Question Posted Saturday May 19 2007, 5:00 pm

I'm 146lbs, and 5'5.
I'm looking for a way to be 130lbs by the end of the summer.
My Meal Plan will be:
Breakfast-
Oatmeal (low-sugar)
1/2 Bannana, Orange, and Apple with Non-Fat Vanilla Yogurt on Top.
Water and a Multivtiamin
Lunch-
Wrap with ToFurkey, Cheese, Lettuce, Cucumbers, and Carrots
Applesauce
Water
Dinner-
Garden Burger w/ Ketchup
Salad
POM Tea

and then i was planning on working out for an hour a day, which would include, running/tredmill for forty minutes, 50 jumping jacks, "core" excersises like crunches, and then Lifting weights.

How fast will i see Results?
Even if I don't loose the EXACT weight i want, I want to at least have a waist line of 34inches. Its 39 right now.

Think I can do it?
and How healthy is that for me?

Any Feedback will be appreicated. and if there's any veggie dinners that can be added for different days, that would be awesome.

THANK YOU.

You're going to get awfully bored eating the same thing every day.

As the person before me said, try mixing it up.

Also, just because fruit is good for you doesn't mean that you should eat tons of it. It's full of sugar, which you should really minimize in your diet.

Make sure you plan snacks into your diet, or else you'll always be hungry! Some of my favourite snacks are sunflower seeds (I eat them like chips), sugar-free candy and home-made popsicles made from Crystal Light. I also love raw broccoli with salad dressing.

Meals? You can work wonders with spices. Garlic, curry, lemon juice and herbs are very low-calorie, and tasty, too. For breakfast try an egg and some cottage cheese. The key is mixing it up so that you don't get bored.

As for vegetarian recipes, I'm not a vegetarian, but I love some dishes. Hummus makes a great snack, spread on pita wedges. Portobello mushroom sandwiches are really tasty, just like hamburgers.
Here's a recipe. [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

Just a warning; make sure you keep your protein intake up. Beans, nuts, seeds, etc. It's especially important for teenage girls, because you're still growing!

By the way, good job on the reasonable goal! A lot of girls come on here trying to lose 10 pounds in a week, and it's just not right. Slow and steady is the way! Just make sure that whatever changes you make are a lifestyle change, or else you'll just put the weight back on when you stop.

How fast will results happen? It depends on how your metabolism reacts. You will likely lose some right away and then your body will "plateau" and the loss will stop but don't give up, because during that time your body will build muscle which will help you lose more weight faster later on.

As for your diet. I would mix it up with more vegetables, like broccoli, spinach, corn, and a couple times a week I would infuse some good proteins in there too like nuts & beans.
