Ok, so I really really really want a lip piercing and I have for a while. I've already looked at alot of stuff about them and I've asked people I know, so I know the risks already. I asked my mom if I could get one, but she keeps saying no, and she doesnt even have a reason. I already told her that I would pay for it. How could I convince her to let me get my lip pierced?
and I'm 15 btw
All it took to get them to agree was telling them exactly why I wanted it - showing them that it wasn't just some random notion that I came up with.
If all else fails tell her she's putting a kink in your hose of free expression.
Also - after I pierced my lip, I decided that it was too much to worry about, so I took it out. Make ABSOLUTELY SURE that you WANT the piercing and you won't TAKE IT OUT in TWO DAYS.

To stand a good shot of getting your piercing you should print out all the information you can find from fact-sheets to cost breakdown and show it to her. Ask her to expand on the reasons she is against it.
Maybe she's scared her friends will judge her for letting you do it. Once she has the information she might change her mind. You should also talk to your father about it and have both of them discuss it. [ solidadvice4teens's advice column | Ask solidadvice4teens A Question ]
