what is a "leap of faith"

Taking a risk based on faith alone. So if you were playing "who wants to be a millionaire", you were at the $1,000,000 question, and you call a friend. They say the answer is A, but you're pretty sure the answer is B. You would be making a leap of faith by choosing A. ]
even though im not exactly sure, i think it means kind of like taking a risk and you hope it will turn out for the better. like there's a new job and its in a way different town and way different life style but you take it anyways just hoping that it will turn out to be really good.

basically, it just means to make a decision using your gut instinct. such as you just "have a feeling" that a certain option is the right one. just using your common sense and instincts to make a decision when there aren't many other clues or hints to help you make it. (: ]
well the expresion means the same as going out on a limb. It means like kind of going out of your way and taking a risk. Whether it be a good or bad risk but trying extra for or at something. ]
