Heyy. So, I just got my braces off yesturday [5-11-07], and my teeth are really straight! Overall, I'm happy, but I want them to be whiter. Is their any way I can make my teeth whiter without buying whitening stuff? Thanks in advance :].
KaladaLeigh answered Saturday May 12 2007, 12:32 pm: if by whitening stuff, you mean the special stuff like the Whitestrips and other stuff..... no you don't have to get them. I want whitening stuff but my mom won't let me...
so I use a whitening toothpate, and Listerine Whitening Pre-Brush Rinse...
it's easy, you swish the listerine around before you brush.... and no, it's not hot! it barely has a taste at all.... so you swish it for a minute, spit it out, then brush. don't use it more than 2 times a day.
a lot of toothpastes are whitening. I like Crest Luminous becuase it tastes good.

If you do, try to rinse your mouth afterwards. These are just a couple of things you can do, and they're more long-term, if you want to maintain the whitness of your teeth. In the short-term, the only thing is to get your teeth whitened or use whitening strips/gel.
The main things that cause teeth staining are coffee/tea, smoking, not brushing well enough. If you can maintain good hygiene, use whitening toothpaste, avoid too much coffee, you should be ok. [ ciao77's advice column | Ask ciao77 A Question ]
