ok a couple months ago i had sex with this guy . well last friday this one girl had sex with him . well there has always been rumors that he had herpes but then this girl told me she was the one that made it up &nd he really doesnt . well i forgot all about it until yesterday when the girl he had sex with last weekend called &nd said someone told her she probably caught herpes &nd now she is getting checked . well i now want to get checked too but i DONT want my mom to find out . do you have to be a certain age to go alone &nd get tested ? &nd do they have to have parent permission before they can test you ? ohh &nd what kind of tests do they do , like blood work or something ? &nd how long does it take to get your results back ?

They do not have to have parent permission before they can give you a vaginal exam. Actually, you are the only person that can ever consent to this. The doctor may take blood but he may also take a urine sample or swab inside your vagina. It usually takes only a couple of days for your results to come back. It shouldn't take longer than a week and a half.

them to. I don't suggest going
to your family doctor but a
planned parenthood instead.
If you go to a family doctor
to get tested, the tests will
show up on your family's insurance
and they will ask why you needed
to get tested. They will do blood
tests and some urine tests also
