A raw emotion would, in my opinion, refer to an emotion that is without boundry, is wild, untamed and uncontrolled.
For example I'm sure you're well aware of the cartoon/movie Hulk. When the man changes into the Hulk he is said to become a creature of immense and raw power and rage. This refers to him being a mass of uncontrolable power and rage (rage being the primary force that brings the Hulk out in the first place, at least int he very old TV series anyway).
