Enable your folder options to view hidden files. Once your iPod is plugged in, open the hard drive of it on your computer, and open the transparent folder that says music. Depending on what iPod you have, there will be 50 folders or less, each containing songs or videos. Copy and paste that into a folder onto your computer...not the folders, but the actual songs in the folders - so yes you have to open all of them and copy and paste.
If you are looking for specific songs, then you might want to use a program for that. Go to www.downloads.com and search for the program 'copypod' and download that. It works pretty well, and good if you want to transfer only specific songs. Hope that helped and good luck. [ HectorJr's advice column | Ask HectorJr A Question ]
