I'm not sure it's what you're looking for, but "Konstantine" by Something Corporate is a great song that isn't terribly well known. Another one is "Last Beautiful Girl" by Matchbox 20. They're a lot ore complicated than this, but basically "Konstantine" is about holding on to a relationship that just isn't working out, but staying together because you just don't want to be alone and "Last Beautiful Girl" is about how when someone hurts you and breaks your heart you can't ever truly forgive them and things will never be the same between you.
