fastpitch mit

I just got a first base mit for fastpitch. i put mit oil on it and rapped a ball inside it to get the shape. but it's not doing anything. i can't get it broke in. any other suggestions??

either do the matress thing [although the ball doesnt have to be in it -- actually, ive never heard of putting the ball in it] or run over with a car a few times, in different positions. seriously, itll help.
