no. you can date multiple people. its like hanging out, but maybe with more in mind down the road. you usually go on dates before you go out.
once you are going out. you are the only one.

To me, no, their not although everyone has their own versions (like what everyone's opinion of what going on a break is).
Dating to me is the same as seeing someone whereas your seeing different people and going on dates with people (guys) as a way to get to know them and what their like and ultimately to hopefully hook up with one of them if things go well.
Going out with is when you're past the dating stage and are actually girlfriend and boyfriend. :]
