Question Posted Monday May 7 2007, 6:09 pm

on 4/30* (date changed incase he sees this) well anyway. "Pat" asked me out. i had jsut told him i liked him. so obv. i said yes. over the weekend he and i were together the whole time. and today he asked me to do something and i lied about it and said my mom said no ;cuz IM ALREADY SICK OF HIM. i find him semi-annoying when hes deff. not annoying. and im afraid of falling in love with him too fast. yeah im pretty sure thats normal though. but idk what to do. i know i like him , but im not about to be excited to see him for once. what should i do. need more info jsut ask.

I think you should tell him that you're very busy with lacrosse/debate/whatever and that you think he's cute (if that's true) but that being around him all the time stresses you out and makes you upset. So I'd state that 'absence makes the heart grow fonder.' Then, I'd set a date for the next time I wanted to see him and I'd make it clear that I could not hang out before then. If he is still annoying you, then you should gently tell him that you thought he would be a great match for you but you can now see that you need something different and it's just not going to work out. Don't give him the 'we can still be friends' line if you really can't.
It's a tough situation getting yourself out of a problem relationship without hurting the guy and feeling guilty. I wish you the best.
