I got sick two days ago, and my throat has been sore the whole time. It's at the poihnt now that I can hardly talk. I'm giving a lecture in front of my class and it's a huge deal. I can't miss that day or I will fail. Any suggestions to get over this fast? I've tried zicam, apple cider vinegar... nothing works.

If it's viral, the best things you can do for your throat are sucking on hard candies or menthol cough drops and drinking hot teas with honey, which will help coat the throat and soothe your vocal chords.
I can't believe that if you miss that day, even if due to illness, you can't make it up another day. (meaning that I'm expressing outrage, not that I'm doubting you.) I would be willing to bet that the principal/dept head would not allow the teacher/prof to enforce that.
