well. tomorrow i have to present a social studies project
about a roman / greek topic & i just have to show the
class my shape sheet (just a picture of whatever you
are doing). & explain five facts about my project.
well i'm really not good in front of a class. i just get
really nervous & stutter.
how can i be more confident? i've already tried reading
it aloud in front of the mirror to myself, but that doesn't
seem to help.
thanks in advance.

I mean everyone else has already done it right? or is going to. so why worry, they may feel the same way you do. what i do is try to stare at the wall when I'm talking and try to advoid the words like "um" etc. maybe just focus on looking at the teacher when you are presenting the project. it doesnt hurt to speak loudly to the class, plus it will make you feel more confident- even if you just do that. Know that you can do it. Take a deep breath to relax before you go up. remember to not even worry about being scared, just get that good grade with confidence!!

Sabine answered Sunday May 6 2007, 6:40 pm: Do you have a friend in the class? You can try to look at him/ her a lot while you're speaking. You can avoid direct eye contact by looking just over the heads of the audience or looking at everyone's hair. They can't tell. Rehearse what you're going to say and smile a lot so people think you're enjoying yourself.
You can look up other public speaking tips on google, but those are the ones that work for me.
