Well, my friend puts it this way: he likes women and he likes sex. So if he imagines two women having sex, there's no one with a penis hanging around spoiling the mood. He can imagine that if he were to accidentally break stumble upon two hot blondes in the heat of things, they'd be overwhelmed with desire for him as well and invite him to join them.
There's also this thing that some men think that women know inherently more about "girl secrets" and that we can pleasure each other better than they can. Not having been with a woman, I don't know, but I don't think we're those mysterious creatures whose sensuality only comes out with one of our own. Well, most of us aren't.
Anyway, to sum it up, I guess some men feel that 2 women = twice the hotness.
I've never yet met a woman who wanted to see gay men together. I think we tend to want to put ourselves psychologically in the place of the woman in any romance novel or pictures we see.

The image of two women together is just very arousing to them. Why wouldn't it? Why watch a man and woman kiss or have sex when you can see another woman instead of the guy that does nothing for you?

(EDIT: The person above me said she's never met a girl who liked seeing gay guys together. Well, open your eyes. What about the craze of emo boys kissing all last year on the internet? Or all of these websites and communities or shows like Queer as Folk loaded with women who love watching it. It's not that out of the ordinary.)
The only thing is that a lot of guys like seeing women together because they think they could maybe someday get into that action. Sorry to break it to them, but if two women enjoy being together, they probably don't want to be interrupted with some horny hairy guy and his penis. *shrug*
