Teen Car

Question Posted Saturday May 5 2007, 7:59 pm

I just turned 16, so i'm working on getting a car from my parents. I'm pretty sure that i'm going to get one. But i'm trying to figure out which one I want.
Can anyone give me any ideas of a good car for a teenager. Preferably one thats not too expensive, that is safe, reliable, and has a good gas mileage. My parents say that if I get a car they want it to be safe.

Any suggestions that you have would be greatly appreciated!

If I were you I would go with Honda. I just got a Honda Civic and it gets 30 mpg in town and 40mpg on the highway. It also has surround curtain airbags, so if you were to get in an accident it's like matresses surrounding you. My dad owns a car lot and he says it's the most reliable, safest, and best on gas than any other car, so that's why he bought me one. Plus they aren't extremely expensive! Good luck :)

well, how much money that you would spent on it?
new or vintage?
Are you Boys or girl?
for new car less than USD 20k i d'rather The chevy cobalt'05, honda accord'02 according to my wxperience both of this car is price valued for boys or gals! it has the sporty yet ellegant looks, large trunks, and economic gas consuming. but overall i choose the japanese cars, since the spare parts is alot cheaper, and low consuming gas, specially the one made by honda.

but for teenagers i would rather the honda fit'05. the design looks like Minivan with 4 seaters 1600cc (1 liter for 3-5 kilos in flat surface!) Street race Front design! it's alot better than Chevy sparks, Hyundai trajets etc you can check whatever you want in www.Honda.com

Toyotas are excellent, reliable cars that are pretty affordable. They are safe too. Volvos are also safe cars, although they're more expensive.
A good car for young people is the Volkswagon Jetta. Volkswagon is a good company as well.

Here's a good web
site where you can get info. on car safety, crash test reports, etc...:

I'd say the best, most reliable cars are Japanese (toyota, Honda), German (Volkswagon), Swedish (volvo).. American cars are less reliable and break down more often, requiring more maintenance. We used to have a Toyota Camry (1994) and it never had any problems...we had it for 12 years. Most cars now have airbags, etc.. so they're safer.

Honestly, for the quality and price, I would go for a toyota.

Go onto Google and search all cars, Like [ie; Chrysler, GM, FORD, TOYOTA..]. They will give you prices, gas mileages and whatever else you want to know about the car.
