in order to get a good hit,
you must have balance. squre your feet to teh plate and be about shoulder width apart and make sure if someone taps you on teh shoulder, you wont fall over. otherwise you need to reconsider your positioning.
also make sure you dont keep your elbow up.
your coach will tell yout to. dont listen it doesnt work most coached just spit back what they see in videos.
and when you swing, swing down and through on the ball. it sounds pretty dumb, but its true. if you swing up. youll it a popup, and if you hit it on a wrong angle, youll hit a grounder.
a line drive is best acheived if you swimg down and have good balance.
hope i helped ]
getting a grounder or a pop up has to do with the way you hit the ball. if you get under the ball when you hit it, it will go up in the air, a pop up. if you get above the ball, it will be a grounder. you just have to practice leveling out your swing to hit the ball in the center to make it go straight out. leveling your swing could have to do with your stance. try chancing your stance and just pratice swinging the bat, not at a ball at first. try doing your swing basically in slow motion and watching it. if you notice you swing down or up, practice swinging level. it takes a lottttt of practice, but you'll get it=]
good luck! ]
I'm pretty sure this has to do with where you hit the ball. Kind of like when you're playing pool and you hit the side of a ball instead of dead center then it goes to a different side. so if your balls are going down you're probably hitting the top of the softball. If you hit the bottom of the ball, it'll pop up. So Try working on getting a more level swing and aiming for dead center of the ball.
Also, you probably do but just in case, make sure you have a tight grip on your bat. if the bat rolls in your hands it effects the ball differently. ]
i would say just work on your step and your hips. If you make the power come from your hips it will go farther. also, make sure you have a good follow through, because if you aren't completing your whole swing it won't ever be a nice line drive. other than just lots of practice, that's really all you need to perfect, good luck! ]
