I listen to music. It usually makes me relax and calm down about things. Music keeps your mind occupied so that you can't really think about stuff. Reading, if you're into that, can do wonders too. I know that music and books aren't always at your disposal, though, so in those circumstances, I try to sing a song in my head and that usually works out pretty good. Another great technique is trying to make yourself smile. Any way you can. Have a friend do something stupid or tell a joke, remember something funny that happened earlier, anything. If you can smile, things are really put into perspective. Good luck. :)

if you're saying that you think too much about the little things, i do that all the time. seriously. and you probably know how annoying it gets, so here's my trick: i just think life's too short to keep thinking about the little things. whatever happens, happens. if you dwell on it for too long, you might not get the happiness or the good thing out of it that you could have. i'm not sure if this is exactly what you meant, but i hope i helped :)
