Ashumms answered Monday April 30 2007, 9:47 pm: Gaining eleven pounds over a year is healthy especially if you have grown taller or gained muscle by doing cardio or lifting small weights. But if you're really adament about losing three pounds just find healthier foods to replace the unhealthy ones that you find everywhere. For example, if you feel like snacking try pretzels or popcorn instead of potato chips or cheetos. Instead of soda, try flavored water, fruit juice, or fruit smoothies. Drinking fruit smoothies don't have that many calories but it also gives you healthy fats. They will also help fill you up so you don't eat too much.
Try a cup and a half of soy milk, one teaspoon of sugar, and whatever fruit you'd like. You can add as much fruit as you want to help flavor it more and just blend it. If you don't like soy milk, you can't really taste it in these smoothies but if you still don't want to use it, use skim milk. [ Ashumms's advice column | Ask Ashumms A Question ]
