Additional info, added Tuesday May 1 2007, 5:35 pm: P.S, not a bad habit like procrastinating. Something involving the body, like not brushing your teeth, or picking your nose (I know, gross.). For example, if you bite your nails, they sell polish that purposely smells/tastes really bad so you won't bite.
You could reward yourself for doing it, or punish yourself for not doing it. Like my friend had a problem with cursing, so she wore a rubber band, and every time she cursed, she'd snap her wrist with the rubber band. It's actually a proven technique. Your body will associate cursing (or whatever) with pain. It's how they train dogs.
Or, like I said, you could reward yourself. If you brush your teeth every day for a week, (or whatever), buy yourself a new shirt, or treat yourself to something.

I was totally going to suggest the one melissa did. If you give yourself motivation not to do something, you're more likely not to do it. There are a lot of different things that work, but it really depends on the bad habit. If you want to diet, puting up motivational pictures on refridgerators or cupboad doors helps. If you want to quit getting bad grades set time aside for studing and reward yourself afterward. I have a billion ideas, but it would be easier if you gave me a bit of information about the bad habit. If you need some help, I've got ya covered. Hope I helped alittle bit, love ya,

icey0990 answered Monday April 30 2007, 8:14 pm: well it depends on the habbit. i gues you can try putting in a quarter or some type of money in a jar whenever you do this bad habbit. As you see the jar piel up with money, you will be more motivated to stop so you can get the money out of the jar. Let me know if this idea works!
