When boys meant "yuck"
and friends were new
dreams were unshattered
and worries few
When recess was too short
and life too long
decisions came easy
without the need to belong
When storks delivered babies
and passions werent so strong
friendships were unbroken
right was right, wrong was wrong
When bad things didnt happen
and only skinned knees brought tears
and the nighlight in its socket
quieted all of our fears
When farewell meant just for summer
and real friends didnt part
and fun went on forever
and never left a broken heart. ]
I personally love "We are Seven" by William Woodsworth. Here's a link to it.

I like this one

but its number thirty four of five hundred favorite poems on this site. surely one of them should catch your fancy. ]
Does it have to be at LEAST 20 lines or jst 20 lines flat?
If it's at least 20 then "Still I rise" - Maya Angelou. ]
