what is dry sex? is it just sex with clothes on, and is it exactly the same as regular sex?

Well, it's not really sex at all, by definition, because 'sex' implies that a man inserts his penis into a woman's vagina. Dry sex, also known as dry humping, is just sort of 'going through the motions' as real sex.

dry sex can mean different things, it could mean the woman is not aroused therefore there is no lubrication or it could mean the clothes are left on but then it is usually called "dry humping" where two people are rubbing against each other but no penetration is happening
