Hi.

Yes, I remember you. With this kinda thing eventually people do find out so it was innevitable.

All you can really try and do is be there for your friend. It's so obvious to me that you care a lot about your friend so if she can't already see that I'd be very amazed. Tell her that you are there for her to talk to and that you do care about her and are worried about her. See if she will open up to you some more and hopefully stop her from thinking along the lines she is thinking.

If you honestly believe she is capable of harming herself though and feel you may not be able to stop her doing so you should have a talk with her parents in confidence and let them know you're worried about her but at the same time you don't want to feel like you're betraying her trust by telling them. Hopefully it will prompt them to try and actually talk to her and help her or at the very least keep an eye on her to make sure she's okay.

She seems fixated on this new cyber friend she had so in my opinion it's a good thing that her parents had got involved. If she is this depressed (and the things that happen to her in the past you had mentioned could be a possible cause of this as well) then she needs professional help with dealing with her depression. I'm not sure if her parents have even considered this or not but it's something they should very seriously consider since she seems to be in a dangerous state of depression.

Let me know how things go and feel free to write back anytime if you need to chat about this again. At the moment all I can really advise though is you talk to her and try and make her see there's the friends right there infront of her who care and love her too (like you) and not just this cyber friend she met. And if you honestly believe she may be capable of harming herself because of her depression I think it would be a good idea to have a talk with her parents (her mom would be a good choice - just try to arrange meeting her alone at your house or osmehting with your parents there if it will be easier for you or even get your parents to help by explaining what is going on).
