Hello, I'm British and starting driving lessons next month I think.
The problem is I'm crap with locations, I'd find it difficult to go to local citys even if I go there quite often.
I don't know where most citys are and I'm just going to be really bad navigation wise on the road.
I also havent read a map before so if you can do anything to help I'll be thankful, websites or advice will be appreciated. Thanks
I am exactly the same as you and thought the EXACT same thing when I started taking driving lessons. I no longer have that worry because I'm not allowed to drive (medical reasons not because I was dangerous on the road, hehe).
You honestly will just get used to it - try not to worry about it too much at all. You may get lost a few times but it's really no big deal at all. My sister thought the same as you too but as you get more confidence on the road this fear of yours will vanish.
One thing I can suggest is a GPS (Global Positioning System). This might be a bit expensive but it works really well especially when travelling a distance. A little unit that sits on your dashboard with a small screen which shows you exactly which way to go and when to turn so you can get to your desired destination (whioch you input at the start of the journey). It will even re-work the route for you if you make a wrong turn anywhere so you're back on route again. Very handy little thing and is in a lot of use by private hire cabs who deal with clients going to far out destinations. [ ammo's advice column | Ask ammo A Question ]
