The Morning After Pill

How does one obtain the day-after pill in California on a day when the family planning clinics are closed?

I agree with the previous collumnists; you can wait for up to 5 days to use Plan B..go first thing when the clinic re-opens. Another thing you might be able to do is go to the pharmacy (major companies like Rite Aid or Walgreen's) and talk to a pharmacist...they can try directing you to a nurse and may even be able to give you a prescription.I think that it's worth a shot.

**Added info: You can get Plan B in CA without a prescription, only if you're over 18--call the pharmacy in advance (thanfully we're both in CA!). If you're under 18, you need a prescription, but it's not hard to get one. I think by now you've gotten it taken care of, but if not, check out this website:

Planned parenthood should be open on weekends. But if not, like the person below said, it works for up to 5 days. However, it is most effective when taken within 3.

The morning after pill doesnt just work for "the morning after." It works within 5 days of having sex. If you can't get it that day, just go the next day.
