i was wondering for a free throw in basketball..is it IF YOU MISS THE RIM OR IF YOU MISS THE WHOLE BACKBOARD ALL TOGETHER that its considered a violation or whatever..and if you do miss it WHAT IS THE VIOLATION?

kaay - for the first shot it like doesnt matter because they caan't rebound it [i bet you know that ;)] but for the second shot, if it doesnt hit the rim, the other team gets the ball under the basket you were shooting under. ♥ hope that helped! - care♥.
