My dermatologist has switched me from Differin gel to Retin-a-Micro.
What should I expect? Is it any different than the Differin? Will it break me out before it clears me out? Should I use it nightly or every other night?
that explains a lot of stuff that you have questions for.
i honestly don't use either but i've heard it's not that different it just clears it up even faster. And if you don't know if it'll burn your skin then i'd use it every other night and then maybe of the weekend like on a friday and saturday use it those 2 nights just to make sure it won't break you out..i mean burn your skin.

It's known to break you out if you're starting an acne regimen with it. But since you've been on another medication, it probably won't be much different.
Start by using it every other night- or even every three nights. Gradually increase it to every other night or every night. But beware- it dries out your skin baddd. It works really well though, so don't let that discourage you. What worked best for me was using Retin-A Micro every other night and moisturizing every day. Find whatever balance works for you. You'll know soon enough if your skin is dried out from daily use.
