CAMP STARLIGHT
I want to go to that camp so badly.. I looked at the camp website and it looks so good! the bad side is that tuition is 8,600 dollars in total. um.. hold up. thats nearly 9,000 dollars!! where is a 13 year old girl supposed to get that kind of money from? i mean my parents arent really that rich.. we arent the kind of family that gets most of their money like inherited from their grandparents.. infact we have to give money to them because they're from cameroon which is in africa so my parents and relatives had to make their way through america by themselves. and we give money to our other family members in africa who werent as fortunate.. and thats good, but then we cant always go on like those vacations that like alot of my friends and etc. go on to like jamaica, hawaii, and tons of beaches. I like in New Jersey, and the camp is in Starlight, Pennyslvania(SP?). yeah like my parents would wanna drive that far either. but i really want to go to this.. really badly. i've never been to camp before and i wanna go before im like old, so i can always remember that i went to camp. unless there are other sleepaway camps out there that are close to my location, hillsborough, new jersey, that dont cost that much. um anyways how can i convince my parents to let me go to this camp and pay that amount of money to let me go? or... how can i earn money so i can go? right now i have about 300 dollars in my bank account. im entereing a talent show, and if i win, i'll get 350 more dollars. i hope i win!! (well. i also wanted to get an ipod but i guess that can wait, too.) or should i sell stuff? err.. not sure about that since im a major pack rat.
if your wondering what my question is, its
1. how can i earn money so i can go to an expensive sleepaway summer camp (if 9,600 bucks is expensive for a summer camp.. i dunno)
2. how can i convince my parents to let me go to this expensive summer camp
3. are there any other good summer camps near hillsborough, new jersey? good like camp starlight (www.campstarlight.com)
4. how long would it take me to get to starlight, pennyslavania(sorry i cant spell that place right! i think)
5. anything else that would be useful to know!

most camps have scholarships and you can fill out a form, just search the website or call.
1 & 2)i had the same problemmm. haha, i went crazy with convincing charts, pamphlets, and pictures. i also was really good with like helping around the house and in school and finally they spilt camp (bc they are divorced). our camp directors were really nice and gave us a discount, because we explained our situation. i hearr starlight is a really nice camp, so you could try having your mom talk to the people in charge of the campp. ohh and 8,600 is alittle above average for camp, you can do better, but not much.
3. there are soo many good camps everywhere!

some cammps that me & my friends go to are:
-camp louemma. per session its like 2,000. so its not that exspensive and its in nj.
-camp wahnee
-camp timberlake
-camp kindering
-camp indian head
-camp island lake
-camp echo
-camp echo lake (completely diff. from echo)
-camp tioga
-camp chen-a-wanda
each of these have a webiste so check them out as well.
