how to convince parents...

Question Posted Sunday April 8 2007, 9:22 pm

well i really want to make a few changes...

first of all, i really want highlights. this is actually a possibility.. maybe. my parents used to say no because they thought it was too annoying to maintain and stuff. then i asked my mom again and she said maybe. any other ways i could help convince her?

also, i only have 2 piercings.. in my ears. i really want a double pierce, cartilage, and belly button pierce. my parents hate piercings a lot.. like maybe i could get a double but i have really slim chances of getting a cartilage or a belly button. a lot of girls in my grade are getting them and i really like them. any ideas to convince parents?

also.. if you keep your belly button ring or cartilage in for like yearsss and then take it out will the hole eventually close up because i dont want a piercing there when im a grandma. haha

Okk well for highlights. Don't get anything that will look fake. If you know what I mean. So tell your mom you don't want like anything outrageous but something simple. If she is thinking about try to agree on a color that will look really nice in your hair. And about getting your belly button pierced.....don't eee because it can get really infected really easily. I would stay on the sage side with that. I have double pierced and my cartliage pierced too. The cartilage is my favorite. Its not that bad too and it doesn't hurt. If you do get any piercings done, take care of them!! Hope I helped!!

Tell her why highlights would be good for you. They're not hard to maintain since it's hair, so I don't know.

As for your piercing. Try the double. They already let you pierce your ears, so a double might be a possibility like you said.

And if you were to take it out after years, it'd close but it'd just take longer since the hole isn't a new one.

highlights- they are a pain to maintain but ask your parents to just give you this chance and if they are to hard to maintain then you will just not do it again.

Piercings- Many parents don't like them but they do need to realize they will close up if they are completely hideous. I have my cartilage pierced and threes holes in my ear and i use to have more but i grew out of the them and just simple took them out after having them for a long time..and they closed
Go to them like a responsible adult and talk to them about it.
Parent like to see their children able to goo to them like a adult.
Good luck
