1. You're getting your period
This is actually quite common, especially when you get a bit older.
2. You're pregnant
Don't freak out with this one. You know whether you've had sex or not.
3. They're growing
This one might sound a bit weird, but they could hurt from growing.
4. Bra
They could get irritated from your bra. If you've changed the type you get recently, this could be why. If not, then you can most likely rule this option out.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. If it keeps up, you should probably schedule a doctor's appointment.

no, nothing is wrong with you.
- sensitive nipples. female's nipples tend to grow sensitive the time during and around when they're supposed to get their period. it probably just means you are about to or have just finished your period.
- your bra is too tight. maybe you are outgrowing your current bra size & need to go up one size. take your bra off during the night to allow for circulation around the breast area. if it is not sore during the night, you probably should consider going up a size, or two, even.
- your breasts are growing. especially the nipple area, if your breasts are sore, it could mean simply that they are growing. this might persist on & off for a week. it will eventually stop.
to prevent the pain, do as i listed above (the suggestions, like taking your bra off during the night, making sure your bra fits, etc. & i suggest just massaging them every night before you go to sleep, or after you take a shower. it might be really sensitive, dont like poke it or anything, but just rub lotion on them or something to make them not hurt so much.
if this persists over two weeks, i'd go to a doctor. but it is 95% likely that it's one of those things i listed above.
