2 percent of girls physically cannot use tampons. Though its rare, that might be your problem.
Go into the bathroom, relax, and try. If you dont have your period, I reccomend putting some vaseline (not a lot) to make it easier to put in. You can do that when you do have your period as well. It helps me to know exactly where to put it, so use your hand and find the "area" and position the tampon. ease it in, straight but a bit upward, and than once your fingers are touching your vagina, push the applicator. It should go in, and if not all the way, give it an extra push. If you can't get it in, maybe your to tense. Take deep breaths.
Some people cant get it in sitting on the toilet. Try lying down or squatting. Practice makes perfect, so keep trying!
pockets answered Friday April 6 2007, 5:05 pm: I've had my period for 4 years and I still don't use them. Actually, i've never even attempted to use one, and i'm a perfectly normal girl. There's nothing wrong with pads, they're more natural, but i'm probably just being a hippie about it.
Try using a smaller sized tampon (OB brand are small for smaller/younger girls). Or ask your mom for help, not literally, just ask her to walk you through it verbally without watching you. If you aren't that close with your mom, don't bother with that. [ pockets's advice column | Ask pockets A Question ]
orphans answered Thursday April 5 2007, 5:38 pm: hey
like tina said, youre probably doing it wrong.
SPREAD your legs out REALLY far & just insert it. it should go in fairly smooth [ talkin about the plastic applicator ]. if you have issues, then DO NOT PUT THE COTTON SWAB IN. it will hurt, feel uncomfortable, & other things you dont wanna hear.
if the plastic applicator goes in smooth, push the end into your vajj. that way, the cotton swab will have also gone in smooth.
oh & dont stress. some people just weren't born for tampons - although i DO stronggggly suggest giving it another try. you can do all sorts of things in tampons, like swimming, wearing a thong, & people won't even know you have it. & it doesnt smell. its convinient cause it fits in your pocket / purse for easy changing. -- the only reason that people dont like tampons is cause 75% of the time, they're doing it wrong ;] there's nothing wrong with you if you just dont get it the first few times.
