Unless you are having sex with a closely related person e.g brother etc. All sicknesses e.g cold etc. will not harm the baby in any way as your body will not transfer it to the baby. However some viruses can cause birth defects, for example rubella can cause foetal brain damage, so if you suspect you might have something worse than a cold I would see a doctor before you tried to conceive.
