I am 13 years old but turning 14 next month. I have babysat kids from the ages 2-6 numerous times. I also babysit my brothers who are 9 and 12. This Saturday I was asked to babysit these 3 kids. One is 1 1/2 years old, 1 is 8 years old and the other is 10. I know the 10-year old because she goes on my bus and I talk to her. I am worried about the 1 1/2 year old because he is not potty trained so that mean's I will be changing diapers. I have babysat alot before but for some reason this time Im more nervous. Is there anyway I can prepare quickly for Saturday and get over my worries. Thank you

Most of your time and energy will be spent caring for the 1 1/2 year old. Remember also that if something DOES happen (God forbid) the older kids have the knowledge to help you (i.e., they can dump water on small fires or call for help, etc).
But seriously, don't worry. Everything will work out fine. Think of an activity you can ALL do together (art projects are great if they're creative) and you can put the toddler down for a nap & say, fingerpaint with the kids when he's sleeping.

Maybe you want the kids to like you, maybe you're not sure what activities to do, or maybe you're just nervous altogether. It could be anything. Just remember, you've got a lot of experience with kids & babysitting, so I'm sure if anything goes wrong, you'll have it under control. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]
