You have good bacteria and bad bacteria down there. Douching kills the bad bacteria as well as the good. So if you feel you need to freshen up down there sometime try to limit it to only a few times a year, if not at all.

DearAbby got it right. It's a bag filled with water used to "clean out" your vagina. What she didn't say was that it was extremely unhealthy. You vagina has its own way of cleaning itself, pumping water into it leaves it vunerable to infections and the like.

Douching is using a "douche" obviously and it circulates water into and out of your vagina or medical/hygenic reasons. Not to "smell pretty". Never ever put perfume into your vagina Thats probably an infection waiting to happen.

basicly its putting perfume in your vagina so it will smell nice. not exactly healthy for the vagina (it ruins the pH level, and may increase rick of TSS: Toxic Shock Syndrome, but there are lots of companies that make douche and its a big seller (among women of course). hope i helped
