I think that would depend on the type of answer you would be seeking. From a scientific point of view where everything can be explained with an experiment and everything has a logical explanation (and if it doesn't then it's not deemed real) the answer to your question would be no. To answer your question from a different perspective however, where it all comes down to faith what you believe, then the answer would be whatever you believe in your heart. If you believe they are real then who is anyone else to tell you otherwise?

There is supposed to be a whole realm of magical beings. No one has been able to either prove or disprove their existence.
I would say go with how you feel. If they feel real to you I don't see any harm in it.
