13/f New boyfriend, we've been going out for about a week. I know a week isn't alot, but I like him alot. I mean, alot.
So yesterday I went iceskating with him, and these "a-holes that he goes to class with" were like, "makeout! makeout!" and we ended up not making out. Because who wants to makeout with everryone watching you?
So he asked me to go to the movies with him, and I really couldn't say no. So I told my mom about it. She was like, "Ill think about it" and now it turns out that shes not letting me go because I could "get into the wrong situation" or "earn myself bad repuatation" "I cant go to the movies with a boy!" So I asked one of my friends to go, but she still isn't letting me. I've been crying for hours. Yeahh, I know she's trying to protect me and all that, but pleaseee.
I really have no idea what to do, because if I blow that plans off I have a feeling I'm going to get dumped. Even if I don't, I'll still feel really bad that I didn't go with him because I know he really wants to go.
Is there ANY way I could convince my mom to let me go to the movies? Help, asap. ):

LoveNJstyle answered Sunday March 25 2007, 10:33 am: tell your bf what's going on and that you are not allowed to go everywhere so he doesn't think you're just blowing him off. don't be immature about it but not being available sometimes will make it more interesting when you are. if this guy cares about you at all (like he should since he's your bf) he won't dump you for it. most people aren't allowed to go out by themselves with a guy at 13 anyway. I mean, i don't know how things are now but it's still kinda young. make a compromise with your mom and go with a group so you won't get a "bad reputation". trust me, it will work out for you. <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]

calmly explain to your mom that you really want to go to the movies. explain to her that youre old enough to make responsible decisions for yourself. MAKE SURE YOU SAY, "i want to hear your point of view. why wont you let me go to the movies?" DO NOT SCREAM OR YELL. she will think youre more mature and trust you more if you calmly treat her like an adult and ACT like an adult. do you see adults screaming and yelling for what they want? NO they have to negotiate. PLEASE make sure you say "i want to hear your point of view."
if she says, "no' ask her to explain. say that you won't do anything stupid, and you'll keep your cell (if you have one) on throughout the movie. tell her you know that she's doing it for your good, but you want to make the final decision.
