okay im 13/f and after doing about 2 laps in 2 minutes and 36 seconds i kept on going ( we had to do 4 and a half) it hurt a lot when i was running on my 3rd lap.and when i breathed in and out it was more like gasping . so istarted to walk (it was sooo emberassing i came in dead last ; my coach said its becasue its only my second practice when everyone else has been practicing for 2 weeks) and when i started walking i couldnt breath at all and started to hyperventalate(sp?) i literally felt like i was going to pass out.in a way to describe how i felt it like someone was holding on to my lungs making them not able to get air throught them. can someone please help me by telling me why i feel that way when everyone esle barely breaks a sweat. i mean im not out of shape , im 5"5 and 115 pounds and 13/f . Also can anyone give me tips to not hurt so much (just practice right?) im not that good at spritns so thats why i tried long distance . and now since im pretty bad at that, im starting to tihnk that madybe track isnt my thing. but i CANT quit becasue my dad use to be a verry good runner , and i want to be like him adn make him proud . when he ran the boston maraton he said he kept on going evn though it hurt. i kepth that in mind as iran today and i tried to keep going , but i just couldnt .i really did try my best.

You should go to your doctor to get it checked out. As for other aches and pains make sure you stretch really good before practicing. Don't give up. Your doctor will probably give you an inhaler to use if you have the asthma and it will make your breathing better and manageable. Also, your coach or other runners can give you some stretching tips and help you find your strength on the team. Whatever you, do don't give up. And your dad should be proud of you that you are trying your best and want to please him as much as you do. Good Luck. hope i helped!
