Moving Out

Question Posted Monday March 19 2007, 4:25 pm

What is the legal age you can move out of your parents house? Some people have told me 18 and some have told me 17. I'm in South Carolina if that makes a difference. Also, how would you tell your mom you were moving out without hurting her feelings?

The people below me were correct, 16 to be emancipated, 18 to move out completely. I know you don't want to hear this, but don't move out. If you really are going to, though, just say "Mom, I need to get out of here, I feel like I'm ready, and I want to start being more independent".
