They will close up if you take them out for a certain amount of time. They will shrink as soon as you take them out and slowly go down until it is normal again. Tell your mom that you are growing up and you want to try a more unique way of expressing yourself. Offer to pay for the piercing and earrings yourself. That usually helps.
