Completely random things. Literally there are an infinte amount of things to talk about, you just have to pick one. Granted, with such a broad scope of ideas it is hard to pick one, but with a creative mind you can keep a conversation going for HOURS (And I've done this from experience) through random talk, which expands into another conversation and from there another one, each propelled by something new and random.

It's like going to wikipedia and searching nuclear physics and ending up on a bio for Captain Picard of Star Trek: The Next Generation. You went from science to science fiction in a matter of minutes!

Such is the same for conversation. Start with one thing and just constantly expand on it, propelling the conversation with random talk and chatter, moving from one subject to the next.

Yeah. Don't worry about it. Chances are they are thinking the same thing. Just let it run it's course. Just start talking about things that you no are of no inteest to him. Eventually he will want to get off so yeah... Or have someone else join in on the conversation and still invite him in the conversation, but talk to that person and he will usually get the message. Than to the other person, simply tell them you have to go.
