I really like this guy, but the age difference is a conflict

Question Posted Sunday March 11 2007, 11:06 am

okay, first off i am 15. the guy i like is 19. we really get along greatly, we talk on the phone for hours and never run out of things to say. we even finish each other's sentences sometimes. a lot of people have been saying he just "wants some" but, mostly everyone knows i'm not that way, including him. i really like him but i dont want to be called a whore for dating him considering everyone says college boys only want one thing. another thing i worry about is my parents. what they would think if i told them. please help me. :(

It's very well possible that he's not after one thing. You know this guy better than me, your friends or anyone from the outside - so you shouldn't worry about what everyone else thinks. Your decision is your own. Four years isn't too much of a big difference, but atleast people are concerned & are just looking out for you. To play it on the safe side, continue to date this guy, but don't put out at all. If he sticks around, he's clearly interested in YOU & respects you. But if for some reason, things become shady & he no longer wants to date, it's pretty obvious he was only around for sex. As far as your parents go - it's best to discuss it with them before they find out on their own. If they don't approve the two of you dating, they can press charges against him since he's over 18 & you're a minor.

Well most likley if you told them, they would be upset-- so don't. I would keep on dating him, because it sounds like true love. As corny as it sounds, do what your heart tells you.

im in the same situation as you there is the same difference he is 3 years older than me and i am still at school when i told my parents my dad joked about putting me on the pill but my mum sat me down and sed i hope you know what 16yr old lads are like there only after one thing but i know him and hes not like that at all so you should just tell your parents before they find out and get angry at you for not telling them
