jugding from this website how many times would you have to buy this product for it to work? i think they are 10-day packets, but would i need to buy it more than once for nice white teeth? thanks!
LM answered Friday March 2 2007, 6:51 pm: They work really well. But I'll tell you up front that you can get cheaper kits for whitening.
My mom bought that kit for $80 from the dentist. I used it and had good results. I've also used Crest Whitestrips Classic ($20 or so at WalMart) and they worked just as well, whitening-wise. But the gel stuff on them had a tendency to ooze out faster than on the whitestrips.
How many kits depends on how stained your teeth are. I doubt you'd need more than one... multiple kits are usually reserved for like, three pack a day smokers or people with really bad enamel.
Before you do something drastic (whitening is considered drastic to me, because it makes your teeth so sensitive temporarily) talk to your dentist about what's best. Better yet, try something like Listerine Whitening rinse before you brush. It doesn't hav ethe best taste, but you brush it away right after. Plus it really DOES work. Use a whitening toothpaste two or three times a day- more than that, you could wear out the enamel on your teeth. A couple good ones are Crest Vivid White and Arm&Hammer Whitening. The first one tastes more like actual toothpaste, the second one takes some getting used to but works great!
If your dentist tells you that you do indeed need multiple whitening kits, wait a couple months in between using them. Otherwise, you won't be able to drink anything that's not room temperature without wincing in pain.
