Depo Provera Shot.

Question Posted Thursday March 1 2007, 2:38 pm

I've been on the Depo shot for a while now and I haven't had a period since October. My normal periods are only 3 days long and I've been having one for the past 6 days. It doesn't continue throughout the whole day, just for a little while each day. Is that normal? It's very light and I'm having severe cramps. Thanks.

with the depo yeah it's possible. i was told this when i was going to get it but then decided against it. because she told me that it is likely that you will bleed for 90 days straight. and i was like ohh helll no. haha it's called spotting. it's not your period it's just your vagina leaking blood it's normal. because it also could increase your cramps too .

Birth control will normally shorten your periods and lessen cramps. Sounds like you could have a problem. It's not an emergency, but talk to your doctor as soon as possible.

since you're on depo it basically screws up your period..for some girls they don't even get there periods maybe just little spotting though.so ya it is normal. if you don't trust the depo and not having your period regurlarly then i suggest do a pregnancy test monthly or switch to the pill.
