PMS stands for premenstrual syndrome not preoccuring mood swings. As for the pad feeling cold - it is not in direct contact with your body but has been absorbed down into the towel so the blood will cool, and as it has been absorbed away from the body you will not feel it. All completely normal.

I would guess it has something to do with air temperature. When your pad is against your body, it absorbs your body heat. When it's not, it cools. Just like when you first put on clothes, they're generally cold, but they warm up. The fact that your pad is damp probably makes it feel colder.

I'm not exactly sure about the first part, I've never experienced that before.

And PMS stands for Premenstrual Syndrome.
