Child Emancipation

Question Posted Monday February 26 2007, 10:21 pm

I'm a 15 year old female. I don't work, I will when I turn 16 which will be in 3 months. I want to know everything there is to know, bad and good, about child emancipation. I don't like being with my dad anymore and I want to move out so I don't have to be around him. He used to abuse me but he doesn't anymore. Whatever you know about this please let me know.

Well you have to wait until your 16 in some states, and you have to be completely capable of your financial affairs meaning that you can get all of your basic needs without applying for welfare. Sadly, you need your Dad's consent if you want to be emancipated.
