turnabout, a dancing catastrophe

SORRY THIS IS SO LONG!!
tonight was my turnabout dance at school. i asked this guy as a friend to make my other friend happy...its a long story, but that's not the point/problem.
i was having fun dancing and singing at the top of my lungs, when the music changed to a slow dance. in the middle of the dance, it happened....i saw my crush-who i WANTED to ask to the dance....and i REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to dance with him, instead of my "date". All i could think about was dancing and kissing my crush. when they played 2 slow dances in a row, i was really tempted to "ditch" my date and dance with my crush. i started feeling guilty about my feelings, so i shut them away, and just danced with my date. then, i ended up having to leave, because my ride was there. i was so devistated about not being able to dance with my crush, even if it was to a fast, upbeat song.
the best part of the bad was....my crush didn't have a date,(YAY) and he was looking at my the whole time i was slowdancing!!....man, i just wanted to kiss him!!
i guess what i need help on is....how do i get my crush to ask me out, becuase i think he's intereted, but at the same time, i don't think he is. !?!?!?!
