Alright, here is my problem, i am a 'tomboy' and i wanted to change my clothing style. I think that i would have some potential to actually look like a pretty 'preppy chick', but thats just my opinion, the thing is, i never put any time into it, and i was thinkin, maybe if i tried, i could see how it goes.
I have an issue though, i dont know what types of clothes to get, my friend suggested Hollister and i was going to take that into consideration. I just wanted to know, types of shirts, (i know the double layer is quite popular at my school), pants, skirts, shoes, everything! So, if you have any suggestions about ANYTHING being more of a girly girl without changing my personality and just my style of clothing, that would be great =). Thanks.
Additional info, added Tuesday February 13 2007, 8:29 pm: also, if you had any ideas for make-up as well, all i wear is eyeliner, and i was thinking maybe some eyeshadow and other things that would make my eyes better to look at haha. Here, ill show ya a picture of me and tell me what you think.
<B> Tickled Pink
No other colour in existence screams girly girl more than pretty pink. Contrary to popular belief this pale colour is one of the most versatile hues in make-up. The naturally warm undertones replicate the warmth found in many skin colours, a fact which make-up artists have known for years. They often use light pink powders over the entire face to bring life back to dull, tired skin. This super flattering shade is also great for use around the eyes. Use it to compliment brown eyes and accent green and blue eyes. Hollywood starlets like Reese Witherspoon are often spotted in pink hues. You too can get her look with a sweep of pink blush over the apples of the cheeks and a light brush of pale pink eye-shadow over the eyelids, finished off with a swipe of peachy pink lip-gloss.
<b/>Pale Princess
Pale tones - from pearl-like whites to sorbet pinks and lush light lilacs - are versatile, flattering and grown-up girly at its best. Pale tones are perfect for those of us who don't have perfect skin, as the light reflecting quality of pale make-up is well known to smooth out skin tone, hide dark circles and patchiness and highlight eyes, lips and cheeks without highlighting fine lines and wrinkles or pore size. Pale makeup also offers a great way to replicate fashion trends because it’s easy to apply and almost impossible to get wrong. We love this look from the latest Chanel runway show - it's super glam and totally girly.
<B> Glossy Gal
Anything glossy is perfect for those of us trying to achieve a younger girly look whilst still looking gorgeous and grown up. A gloss or shimmering foundation will reflect light, giving the illusion of softer younger skin. Try gloss bronzer and blush to add sheen and sexiness to the face and body. A gloss eye colour will open up and widen eyes. However, the most popular place to wear gloss is on the lips - try any colour from girly pink to sexy plum or ravishing red. Lip gloss fills in lips, giving them a plump, young and fresh look. It's worn by a bevy of stars, including Jessica Simpson who has her own range of lip glosses under the name 'Desert Beauty'.
1. Basics: Start with sultry smooth skin by using a light exfoliating face wash to cleanse away dead skin. Choose a product with pore cleanser and a low irritant formula to make sure you get the best out of your skin. We like NIVEA Visage Young Wash 'n' Refine Daily Wash Scrub.
2. Even it: Even out skin tone using a lightweight tinted moisturiser to give just the right amount of coverage without making you look “made up”. Remember to choose an oil free formula to make sure you're not undoing all your good skincare work. We love NIVEA Visage Young Be Beautiful Tinted Moisturiser.
3. Highlight: Choose lip glosses, eye-liners and mascaras in natural tones. Use minimally to bring focus to one area of your face in order to keep the look simple and fresh. For a neutral gloss look this summer, try NIVEA Lip Care Caregloss & Shine Tinted.

imFLLLY answered Saturday February 17 2007, 9:14 pm: i suggest that you try out American Eagle, Aeropostale and Pac Sun. American Eagle is like a really preppy look, real cute. Aeroposstale is kind of like American Eagle and is preppy to, although not as preppy. Pac Sun is a mixture of preppy and like almost a kind of skater look. you can find the brands bilabong, roxy, volcom, oneil, etc. there. if you are going for a peally preppy look i suggest you choose your friends suggested holliter or American Eagle or even aeropostale. one other place you could go would be forever 21. when shopping for more girly clothes, you dont always want to go with thte more comfortable baggy thigns, you want the clothes that are not to tight, to were they are uncomfortable but clothes that are moderately comfy and very cute at the same time. my favorite thign right now is clogs oe cute preppy flats [for shoes during the summer try old navy flip flops, every color is cute]sweaters, polos and henleys [for shirts]and a mixture of aero jeans and ae jeans [ during the summer bermuda or short plaid shorts are always a must] another possibility of bottoms is skirts wtih leggies. as far as accesories go, you could never go wrong with pearls or long beads and matching earings that match your outfits. i had fun answering your question and i hope that i was of assistance to you. HOPLESSxROMNTC answered Tuesday February 13 2007, 9:47 pm: Hollister is the perfect store for when your just starting to change to girly girl, because everything in it is really easy to match, great sizes and colors, etc etc.
But if you want to make the risk, try going to a store like Urban Outfitters, Charlotte Russe, and Forever 21. They have really cute clothes that you can make your own.
For instance, if you still want to be tomboyish but cute at the same time try Lux Plaid Bermuda Shorts with a cute tank top.
redhead6154 answered Tuesday February 13 2007, 8:54 pm: i agree with your friend. hollister is very popular with preppy girls. also aeropostale, american eagle, & abercrombie. try to wear more skirts & flip flops when it gets warmer out. if you don't already have one, get a hair straightener. make sure it's ceramic though. as for the clothes, just bring a "preppy" friend along when you go shopping who shops at those stores. he or she can help you pick out some cute stuff. get some stuff you like too. you're really pretty so changing into a preppy girl shouldn't be too hard for you. hope i helped & good luck to you.
