I'm guessing he's shy...

ok there is this kid Joe at my school.. he's been talking to me, hitting me with a stick, and IMing me..

I was away and he left these messages..
Joe: Hey
Joe: wats goin, sry that im finally responding to u now,
Joe: i just been busy studying and workin
Joe: but i think we should def hang out this weekend
Joe: c ya on tuesday

Tuesday came he didn't talk to me or aknowledge my presence. Then today we had a class together.. and still nothing. don't know what to do... what to sya or anything.

Yes, he probably is shy. This is coming from a shy person, so I know. Usually shy people are more outgoing online cause they aren't with you face to face. He probably likes you but too shy to come up and talk, so I think YOU should go up to him in class and start talking. Just be like "Hey, so can you still hang out this weekend?".
