Myspace Profile

Question Posted Friday February 2 2007, 11:44 am

Okay, so my myspace layout was basically default with a background, and I had a code in there to make it skinny. I accidentally replaced the layout and saved it, and it took the skinny code away. I went and put the original layout back, then I got a skinny code. The code didn't work, my profile is big. The skinny code just made the font smaller. Then, I went and tried a different skinny code. Then I tried them both with a different layout. What is wrong? Why won't my profile go skinny anymore?

Some times when you switch your settings around, whether accidentally or intentionally, some times the code changes a little bit after activating itself on a profile. There's one explanation.

A solution would be to go back to the website you got the code from (or whatever source), and re-insert it in there.

If you already tried that, or just now did and it did the same thing, then it's myspaces's or the code's fault. Are there any ActiveX controls in the code? Any Java or Javascript in the code? Or any viruses?

Plus check for any typos. It happens a whole lot. More than you think! If you are unsure about the ActiveX controls or Java, go to the MISC section of the code (usually at the bottom), and delete the parts. This can mess up the layout.

Also, Does the code start AND end with < STYLE > and < / STYLE >. This is one of the ways the profile can successfully be appeared correctly.

I am a major web-design nerd so if I confused you at all, just leave me feedback, and I will edit my response a bit.

But take the first step of getting the code again, and checking if there could be anything wrong with. If you are unable to get the code, there could be several other things wrong.

If [you understood this] and tried all of the above suggestions, contact Myspace and see if it has anything to do with them, or if this is a habit of Myspace to mess up profiles without a reason or cause. If so, you may have to get a new layout.

So let me know what happens! =]
