Question Posted Thursday February 1 2007, 11:20 pm

I just got a new computer about a month ago from Dell. It's an E520, but I don't know much about computers or what I have, other than the Pentium 4 and the gig of RAM.

Anyway, whats happens when I load source is it starts off fine with the loading screen. The screen then goes black, and I can move my mouse pointer thingy around the screen like always. However, whenever I drag over the spots where it would say Find Servers, Quit, Play Game, etc., I still hear the clicky sound. Clicking things opens them (I can hear the opening sound), but I can't see anything. I have to do the old Ctrl Alt Delete thing to get rid of it.

Any ideas?

If you see absolutely nothing, just black(no mouse pointer or anything) then your computer probably didn't come with a graphics card. Go to start>right click "my computer">properties>hardware tab>device manager. Find "display adapters" and click the + to the left of it. Tell me what it says or it's not there. If you want you can IM me, I'll be here for the next half hour to an hour; my contact info is on my column.
